This is a excellent tip to save money and our makeup brushes! Just like hair - these brushes need TLC. Leave the conditioner on for 5 minutes for extra softness! Thanks cupandpenny!

susie homemaker: cleaning your makeup brushesYears ago for Christmas, my mom bought me a set of nice (expensive!) brushes from Bare Escentuals; I’ve been using them every day ever since. But they get a little grungy after much use, and the bristles start to feel rough after awhile. So I went to purchase some (expensive) Bare Escentuals brush shampoo and conditioner, specially made for the brushes. I was going to pay a lot for them, but the lady at the store saved me! She said I could just use regular shampoo and conditioner (like the kind I use on my hair), and it would work just as well to clean and soften the bristles. And she was right. I’ve been cleaning them that way every weekend since. It keeps them feeling nice on my skin, and keeps my skin from getting yucky bacteria on it.

Anonymous asked : asked on my blog and am getting lots of suggestions. I'd check in periodically on the post because this is the slow time for my blog :)

I’m sorry. I don’t know what you mean. I’m a bit confused.

DIY Dowel Riding Horse Tutorial from A Beautiful Mess here. I see so many cute DIY presents/projects for kids that I don’t post because lots of them are just so complicated and you can get them cheaper at IKEA or Target. This project is really easy  and you could even customize the horses with the child’s hair color, eye color, favorite color etc…

Turn this boring mens XL t shirt into a cute, draped vest! Takes literally five minutes. I’ve actually already made this one for myself and can I just say how much I love it! I used a dark grey mens’ XL shirt from Wal-Mart I got for 3.97. Careful, though. Make sure the one you’re getting is free of pockets and vee necks. The tutorial is great and even comes with a little video! Seriously, though, five cuts and you’re done. No sewing at all! I love mine! And how cute would it look belted??

An awesome idea from Wobisobi.
